Being pregnant is the ultimate desire of every woman. This is informed by the fact that it makes it possible for a woman to enjoy the joys that come with motherhood as well as elevate her status in the society. Many women however, find it difficult to tell exactly how long they have been pregnant. This is partly due to the fact that there are some women who are not in tune with their bodies and partly due to ignorance. It’s imperative to note that a pregnant woman experiences hormonal changes in her body. These changes are brought about the development of the foetus and the fact that the body is adjusting to the state of being pregnant.
A woman who is 4 weeks pregnant is bound to exhibit certain signs and symptoms. These symptoms are outright and mostly occur the fourth week of pregnancy. Knowing beforehand the symptoms that a woman is bound to experience makes it possible for a woman to prepare herself physically and psychologically in advance. A popular adage goes that to be forewarned is to be forearmed. As such, knowing the symptoms that a woman is bound to experience in the fourth week is of essence. There are a number of symptoms that a woman will exhibit when she is 4 weeks pregnant. Implantation bleeding is a sign that a number of women experience in their fourth week of pregnancy. This is a situation whereby a woman bleeds right at the time when she was supposed to be having her menstrual period. This however should not be cause for alarm as it simple means that the embryo has implanted itself into the uterine wall. However, this symptom is not universal and experienced by a small percentage of women.
Mood swings is also a common symptom in the fourth week of pregnancy. A woman tends to be happy one minute and grumpy the other. Breasts become tender, sore, full and sensitive. This is informed by the progesterone and oestrogen coursing through the body system in preparation of breastfeeding. Bloating is also common when a woman is 4 weeks pregnant. Progesterone is actually responsible for it as it slows down digestion to enable nutrients enters the bloodstream and reaches the baby. Apart from the above mentioned symptoms, a woman who is 4 weeks pregnant is expected to lead a healthy lifestyle. This is essentially means that she should watch what she eats, exercise regularly and consults her doctor regularly.
In a nutshell, a woman should make sure that she observes a healthy diet when she is 4 weeks pregnant and take necessary measures to ensure her safety as well as that of the baby.
