The Twilight Saga

Twilight Saga

by Stephanie Meyer

As the latest film from this book is being release later this month, it seems relevant to include this series of books in our recommendations.

I picked up Twilight possibly 3 years ago, when I was browsing in my local Borders (sadly no longer a possibility).  Browsing in Borders used to be my way of winding down after a stressful day at the office – a cup of coffee, then the hunt to find a new and interesting read.

Well, that day I did find it.  I didn’t even realise that it was targeted at the teenage market, I picked up the book, read the sleeve and that was my reading sorted.  I was gripped, the story is unusual and I love the development of the characters, in particular the main ones – Jacob Black, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.  The vegetarian vampire angle captured my imagination and I went on to buy all four books and enjoyed them enormously.  I would recommend this series to anyone.  My Mum and her friends became avid readers too, so it is truly a series of books for any age.

When you sit down to read one of the books it feels like you’ve been transported to another world where anything is possible. As soon as Edward Cullen is mentioned your instantly hooked on the series he’s so mysterious that you need to know more.  The saga’s one of those that you can read over and over again – which for me is the sign of a really good book.

I would recommend this to any Twilight fan and to somebody who hasn’t read the series yet.  You won’t be disappointed and I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised.
