Blackheads are a warning sign
Blackheads are not dirt and can be a cause of adult acne.  Check your skin thoroughly and if you have blackheads, treat them.  Untreated blackheads can become inflamed resulting in red pimples which can spread if you touch them with dirty hands. Infected pimples develop a whitehead which can erupt and cause scars, so catch them early.

Skin Care
Acne is not a disease it is a skin condition so treat yourself to a facial at least once a week.   If you can’t afford to go for the real thing and are unsure about what products to use nip into your local beauty salon and ask them for their recommendations and advice. If they try to sell you products you can’t afford, ask them what key ingredients you need to be looking for.  Remember adult acne is different to teenage acne, so getting advice for your skin type is crucial.

An exfoliant such as Lancome Pure Focus Deep Pore Refining Scrub used 2 to 3 times per week, or a cleanser like Bliss Clog Dissolving Cleansing Milk or Neutrogena Oil-free Cleanser will help to clear the pores and Biore Shine Control Cream Cleanser will help to keep any excess oil at bay.  Finding the right products for your skin may take some trial and error and you may find that you have to use two or more treatments in combination to get the results you want.  But don’t give up, keep at it and remember that whilst the results may take longer to appear, it will be worth it in the end.

Ensure that the make-up you use is a good one.  Look after your skin and treat it with the respect it deserves.  There is no use spending money on skin treatments if you don’t follow it through with the make-up that you use.  Foundations are developing all the time, so get some over-the-counter advice from a beauty consultant.
